The Project:
SmithsonHill is striving to provide the foundations for commercial collaboration; a physical space where world leaders can apply themselves to improving agricultural productivity, as well as commercialise innovative solutions to sustain the world’s increasing appetite and help combat the effects of climate change.
Our joint venture features a site in the South East of Cambridge which is located close to the A1301 and A505. With the first commercial tenants expected in 2022*, the development comprises of 1,000,000 sq ft of lettable commercial space, that builds upon the crop and technology trials currently existing on site, and the burgeoning AgriTech cluster based in Cambridge.
Included in the plans are a new Incubator Hub for AgriTech start-up and scale-up companies, space for international HQ buildings, improved transport links for site users and local residents, on-site energy generation facilities, sustainable water management and biodiversity improvements to hedges and field margins as part of restoring the historic parkland setting.
