A phased rehousing programme providing modern accommodation for South London YMCA's existing and future residents.

Modern accommodation for existing and future residents

The South London YMCA needed to provide modern accommodation for their existing and future residents. The project stalled in 2011, although we were able to work with the YMCA to unlock the development by maximising its potential.

The project included a phased rehousing programme for current residents of the YMCA building. Existing residents remained in the original building during a partial demolition which required a careful decanting strategy to minimise disruption to residents. Once completed, we were able to deliver the second phase, which included the construction of private sale apartments.

The project provided the South London YMCA with a brand new 80-bed facility which offered a range of facilities including communal spaces, offices, meeting rooms, a cafeteria and training facilities. Hill also developed 48 highly specified private sale apartments to maximise the subsidy required.
