You should never underestimate the benefits of a good night’s sleep. It’s important to understand that a successful and peaceful slumber is dependent on your surroundings. Your bedroom should be a comfortable, cosy, and tranquil haven after a long day. So, in recognition of National Bed Month, we have accumulated the following tips to help you create the best environment for your shuteye.

A welcoming colour palette

Bedrooms are the perfect canvas to express your personality and style but opting for a natural colour palette sets the tone of relaxation and creates an opportunistic base to layer your bolder accessories on top of.

Earthy tones are welcoming and soothing, but a brighter dash of colour through scatter cushions and wall art lifts the spirits and creates an atmosphere that is transitional from day to night. Take inspiration from the harmonious bedroom colour palette at our beautiful Knights Park show home in Cambridge.

Bring the outdoors in

Proven to reduce stress and boost creativity, bringing nature into your living space is a great way to add a finishing touch that doesn’t have to be high maintenance. Make the most of attractive faux flowers found in many homeware shops, display wall art depicting landscapes, flowers, or greenery, or hunt out delicately designed textiles featuring blooms and blossoms.

Another clever trick is to fill your room with the aroma of the outdoors using diffusers and candles exuding floral notes.

Nestled in the Norfolk countryside, our stunning show home at Heartwood, Docking gives a tasteful nod to the outdoors through its use of faux plants, highlighted by the seeping sunlight.

Lovely layers

Blissful bedtime moments are always elevated when cocooned by supple sheets, cosy quilts, and draping throws. Summer is just around the corner, but in the meantime, while the outdoors remains slightly blustery and cold, make the most of tucking yourself into the best bedspreads you can find.

When it does become too hot for all these extra layers, make use of a blanket box or basket to keep them tidied away until you need them once again.

Offering a cosy and inviting retreat, our principal bedroom at Capstone Fields proves that layering is the perfect medicine for a goodnights sleep.
