After moving from India to the UK in 2020, Parikshit Singh and Payal Sadhwani began planning for the future when they welcomed their daughter, Aayra. Drawn by its location, community feel and high-quality new homes, the family found their perfect first home at Hollymead Square in Newport, Essex.
Choosing the Ideal Location for a Growing Family
Driven by a career opportunity and the desire to experience a new culture, Parikshit Singh and Payal Sadhwani moved from their native India to the UK in 2020. When the couple became a trio, with the birth of daughter Aayra a couple of years later, they began thinking long-term and decided to buy their first home at Hollymead Square in Newport, Essex.
“I had never heard of Newport but knew a little bit of Essex because we have friends in Chelmsford. Once we realised that Newport was just an hour from London, and that Hollymead was just a five-minute walk from the station, which meant it would be ideal for commuting, we decided to take a look.
We were thrilled to discover how much we could get for our money there and impressed by the high-quality of Hill’s properties. The welcoming and friendly atmosphere of both the Hollymead neighbourhood and the village made it feel like home from the start. The design of the development is outstanding as well, there’s lots of green space and places for children to play.”
Parikshit and Payal liked the idea of buying a new build property. With busy careers and a young child at home, neither relished the idea of a house that needed repairs or decorating. Plus, the contemporary features of new builds, those little touches like plentiful sockets and USB chargers, suited their plans to work from home more.
Finding the Right Development Without Compromise
The couple looked at a few new build developments, but all of them meant making compromises in terms of location, pricing or the items on Payal’s ideal home checklist. Then Parikshit spotted Hollymead Square on Rightmove. He comments: “I had heard of Hill already because we were looking at new builds and The Hill Group was the highest-rated housebuilder we had found. Hollymead Square looked superb, so we decided to visit it the next day.”

“We fell in love with it instantly. It ticked off every single item on our checklist and there were no compromises at all. It’s a really spacious property with a beautiful garden and the style of the décor was perfectly aligned to our tastes. But it turned out to be Aayra who had the casting vote, she walked into the living room and said ‘wow!’ That was the only word she knew at that time, and it wasn’t easy to get out of her. We knew at that moment that this would be our home.”
Supported Every Step of the Way
Things moved fast from that point forward. The family quickly explored Newport and found it to be a bustling and welcoming community. They put an offer in and were delighted with the support received from Hill during the process.
Parikshit explains: “We had never bought a property before, so were nervous about the process, but the way Hill supported us was incredible. Hill put us in touch with everyone from mortgage advisors to solicitors, so the whole process was very simple. The home-buying process has been so smooth and a great experience. Everybody involved was incredibly kind and very professional. Even now we’ve moved in the site manager has been excellent and very responsive, helping us with snagging and sorting out our internet connection.”
We have everything we need right here. It’s a well-located development with great features and the houses have plenty of character. Our neighbours are great and we love the house itself. The flow from our kitchen to the garden through the patio doors is lovely and we have so much space. Plus, the whole zero energy bills element makes a big difference. We’re very happy here and plan on living here for a long, long time.
