The Hill Group was proud to have Jamie Hunter, Development Director, invited as a panellist at a key fringe event during the 2024 Labour Party Conference.

The event, titled ‘Unlocking Regional Growth and Placemaking – How Can Labour Deliver Homes and Sustainable Communities?’, brought together industry leaders to discuss Labour’s ambitious target of building 1.5 million new homes and creating sustainable new towns.

With the government advancing its housing agenda—focused on regional growth and new town developments—the panel, chaired by Jo Dancy, Director at Kanda Consulting, explored how to build at pace and scale while maintaining quality placemaking and long-term community stewardship.

Jamie shared the stage with experts including Jim Dickson MP, Kevin Bonavia MP, Councillor Peter Marland and Fiona Fletcher Smith from L&Q, and the discussion provided an excellent platform to showcase Hill’s forward-thinking approach and dedication to supporting the future of housing across the UK.

It was a privilege to take part in this important discussion on how we can work collaboratively to meet the UK’s housing needs. At Hill, we understand the importance of creating not just homes but thriving communities that support long-term regional growth. I believe that through strong partnerships between developers, local authorities and the government, we can deliver sustainable developments that make a meaningful impact.
