The development was created as a joint venture partnership with bpha, enabling 108 of the new homes to be affordable and retirement housing. A community facility with a hairdressers and café which is open to the public is incorporated into the affordable apartment blocks.
Although outline planning permission was originally granted for 340 dwellings, our team reduced the number to provide larger homes, which befits its prestigious location and differentiated the development from the competition.
As the land was previously designated as green belt, Ninewells was designed to embrace and protect the positive features of the landscape and local identity. At the heart of this vision was the ‘green fingers’ concept, which introduced a series of green spaces to make a connection with the countryside and act as viewing corridors to the Gog Magog Downs.
