After years of neglect, and insufficient investment, many estates are in need of radical improvement. Our regeneration projects involve the wholesale redevelopment of the existing homes and patience is required to assist and guide residents, many of whom may have lived on the estates for decades, through the construction process.
Genuine community involvement is at the heart of this and our dedicated community liaison teams make sure that all stakeholders have a real say in the proposals and are kept informed of progress. Our aim is to try and minimise the disruption to the existing community as much as possible and make sure that we implement initiatives that will have a lasting positive impact. Building confidence and offering employment and training opportunities are key – we have employed many people from the estates we have worked on as well as offering apprenticeships.
We have invested significantly in our regeneration teams who are delivering some truly excellent results. Current projects include the Rectory Park estate, New Union Wharf estate and the Tunbridge Wells estates which involve the demolition of poorly performing existing dwellings with a carefully coordinated phased redevelopment programme to deliver well designed, energy efficient homes.
“We are excited about the future of the estate and it’s great to take those first steps towards making the regeneration a reality.” Resident at the New Union Wharf estate
