Last Friday, the Oscars of the housebuilding industry, the WhatHouse? Awards, took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. We are delighted to announce that Hill walked away with 5 accolades!
We were delighted to have been awarded Silver for Best Medium Housebuilder, which is brilliant achievement in an incredibly competitive category. It was a record-breaking year for us, with turnover of more than £500m for the first time, and profits of £48m, and we are thrilled we can add this accolade to our list of achievements. We were commended by the WhatHouse? Awards judges for our work with innovative designs, quality of construction, innovative investment partnership projects and investment in staff.
Athena, the recipient of three awards this year including Gold for Best Sustainable Development, Silver for Best Development and Silver for Best House (The Avenue), is an exciting development located in Eddington, Cambridge. The collection of sustainable new homes ranges from studio apartments ideal for first time buyers to five-bedroom family houses. Each of the new homes has robust insulation, mechanical ventilation and heat recovery systems, sedum roofs, solar panels, triple glazing and energy-efficient appliance, in addition to benefitting from Eddington’s green initiatives including an underground waste system, district-wide energy centre and the UK’s largest water recycling system!
Judges commended Athena for being “a sharp and innovative scheme and a remarkable achievement of consistent quality” and commented that “Hill should be commended for creating interesting, adaptable and light-filled homes”.
Fish Island Village was awarded Bronze for Best Partnership at this years’ WhatHouse? Awards! The development is an exciting canal-side community in Hackney Wick, offering a stylish collection of one, two and three-bedroom apartments. The development was created in partnership with Peabody, and also offers close to 50,000 sq. ft. of artists’ space and fashion studios which is managed by The Trampery.
Judges commented that Fish Island Village “fully reflects the artistic environment” which it exists in. We regularly worked with local artists and championed the local creative community – including integrating local artists’ artwork on our hoarding and marketing material!
Many congratulations to our teams and our partners who have all contributed to these incredible achievements!
